Booking and paying

How do I book?

Tell us what you'd like through the trip planner, a listing's inquiry form or WhatsApp. We send a quote with each part of the trip and its price. When you accept it online, we book everything and confirm it with each property and operator.

How quickly will you reply?

Within 24 hours, every day of the week. WhatsApp is usually quicker.

Is anything reserved or charged before I accept a quote?

No. Asking for a quote is free, and nothing is booked until you accept it.

What currency are prices in?

Prices on the site are in US dollars, and you can see them in rufiyaa or euros too. Your quote can be in US dollars or in your own currency: its prices are fixed in that currency, and your invoices are in it as well. Green Tax is in US dollars.

Is Green Tax included?

No. Green Tax is a government tax charged per guest per night by the property itself, and you pay it there. Children under 2 don't pay it. The current amounts are in our booking terms.

How much is the deposit, and when is the balance due?

Your quote shows the exact amounts and dates before you accept. Our standard deposit and balance terms are in our booking terms.

How do I pay?

By bank transfer to the account on your invoice, using the invoice number as the reference. We send a receipt for every payment we receive.

Can I change or cancel my trip?

Yes. Changes depend on availability and may change the price. Cancellation charges follow the policy on your quote, which depends on how close to arrival you cancel. Read our standard policy.

Getting there

How do I get to the southern atolls?

Usually a domestic flight from Malé to an airport in the south, such as Kaadedhdhoo or Kooddoo for Huvadhoo Atoll, then a speedboat to your island. We arrange both and put the times on your trip page.

Do I need a visa?

Visitors of every nationality are given a free tourist visa on arrival. You'll need a valid passport, a confirmed booking and an onward ticket, and to complete the traveller declaration (IMUGA) online before you fly. Entry rules can change, so check them before you travel.

Can children come?

Yes. Tell us their ages so we can find rooms and boats that suit them, and quote the right prices.

On the islands

What's different about staying on a local island?

Guesthouses on inhabited islands follow local customs: there's no alcohol on the island, and away from the designated bikini beach, shoulders and knees are covered. Many guesthouses run day trips to sandbanks and resorts where those customs don't apply.

Will I have my trip details with me?

Yes. Your private trip page has your itinerary, each confirmation and your arrival details, and prints as a voucher.

What do you do with my details?

We only ask for your name, email and a contact number, and use them to plan and book your trip. Our privacy policy explains the rest.
